Being the camera shy person that I am, I was not sure if I wanted to have maternity photos done during my pregnancy. I saw so many beautiful maternity sessions, but I just didn’t know if it was right for me. Even though I take photos for a living and make people feel comfortable in front of my lens, I just get so shy when I put myself in front of it. I decided to try and have my wonderful husband do a few photos of me.
Our first try at a park near the beach went HILARIOUSLY wrong due to the wind all of a sudden picking up and making it impossible to get any photos without hair in my face. So we tried again the next day at a different location. We drove around for quite a while to find a nice field of grass (which is apparently super rare in the pinelands that we reside in) and finally picked a good spot to come back to when the sun was just right. I gave my husband the camera and instructed him what to do. I’ve been showing him for a while how to take photos, and I’m so proud of how much he has learned and grown! He did a great job and I am so happy we got a few photos in before he came!
Since we did these photos, I have had an aching desire to do more maternity sessions and would love to get some more in my schedule! I know it’s hard at the end of our pregnancies to not be unhappy with the way we look because our bodies have changed so much, but this journey is such a beautiful thing, and I would love to make expecting mommas feel so beautiful and proud of their bodies during this time!
Here are my favorites from our little shoot! (Edited by me.)
